RFC - Abracadabra DAO votes for week 10/02 - 14/02:
Summary:
This proposal asks AbracadabraDAO to engage in the ArbitrumDAO votes for this week. For some of these, the voting window closes on Thursday, so it is a bit time-sensitive. The votes are:
- OpCo: A DAO-adjacent Entity for Strategy Execution
- Non-Constitutional: Stable Treasury Endowment Program 2.0
- Arbitrum D.A.O. (Domain Allocator Offerings) Grant Program - Season 3
- Request to Increase the Stylus Sprint Committee’s Budget
In the following section, I will present a short summary, why should AbracadabraDAO vote in the topic, and a voting direction suggestion.
Motivation
I am a delegate on ArbitrumDAO and I understand how time-consuming governance processes can be, as they are not limited to forum posts, but also several call where the proposals are discussed. Sometimes, this is overwhelming for protocols contributors/community, so the engagement is not that high. However, every week are discussed/voted topics that has a direct impact in the protocols that are part of Arbitrum Ecosystem. For this reason, I present this week’s votes for the community appreciation, as I believe it is important that AbracadabraDAO to be part of those decisions.
This is on the onchain stage (Tally), and it proposes the creation of an OpCo for the DAO. This setup presents a series of benefits:
- It will replace the Arbitrum Foundation in several activities needed for the DAO function properly. For example, it will be in charge of KYC/KYB for grants/incentives programs (one of the current bottlenecks when the DAO needs to send funds to anyone).
- It will replace several committees, making the DAO’s structure leaner, and ensuring continuity for the programs. Today, each committee (ARDC; ADPC, RWA, etc) has a mandate, and the members are elected for a period of time. Not always they are aligned between themselves, and also the members’ rotation produces disruption on the continuity.
- It will handle activities that are not taken care today: DAO’s marketing, BD, and others (for the full list, please refer to the proposal)
Voting direction suggestion:
FOR: The DAO needs to reduce its dependency of Arbitrum Foundation (main reason, IMO), and consolidate the several committees into a structured body to be efficient.
This is the extension of the RWA diversification program for the ArbitrumDAO treasury. It asks for 35m ARB. It will be swapped to RWA-backed assets (usually, yield-bearing assets).
Voting direction suggestion:
FOR: The RWA sector is an important vertical and those types of assets can be added into Abracadabra, increasing the protocol’s TVL. So, supporting those type of assets is beneficial for us.
This is the onchain vote for Season 3 of this Grant Program. As a reminder, the AbracadabraDAO voted for Saurabh for one of the DA positions.
Voting direction suggestion:
FOR: The introduction of new protocols, supported by this grant program, can be beneficial to the whole ecosystem and for Abracadabra protocol as well.
This proposal requests an additional 4m ARB to distribute to protocols deemed a good fit for the program that were not able to receive funds, as it was massively oversubscribed (147 proposals). The list of protocols is provided in the proposal, so no new submission period will be opened.
Voting direction suggestion:
FOR: Despite the initial budget not being properly defined, the protocols that are part of this list are well known in the ecosystem and their projects are relevant for helping to boostrap Stylus as a relevant development tool.
Arbitrum Voting
Arbitrum Votes for 3 of those topics will end February 14th, for this reason I believe a Speedlane AIP process is required.
If the proposal were to pass, Abracadabra would be voting following the voting direction suggestions proposed here.
